Abstract


In this paper, the Time Domain Integral Equation Method(TDIE) and itsapplications to pulse scattering from randomly rough surfaces are studied. The mainworks and results are as follow:1. The fundamental theory of method of moments (MOM) is introduced andnumerical procedure for treating problems of scattering by 3D PEC objects usingMOM are presented in detail. Method of the analysis of impulse scattering usingMOM associated with the inverse discrete Flourier transformation technology (IDFT)is discussed (MOM-IDFT), and in this paper, all numerical results obtained fromTDIE are compared with that obtained from MOM-IDFT.2. Numerical solution for treating problems of impulse scattering by 3D PECobjects using TDIE are presented in detail which . Instabilities in the Marching-On-Time (MOT) approach in TDIE are discussed and a novel method of average ispresented which is used to suppress oscillating in late time. Numerical resultsilluminate that this method of average is more efficient than conventional methods ofaverage.3. Numerical solution for treating problems of impulse scattering by 2D PECobjects using TDIE are presented. A novel algorithm for the calculations of transientfar-fields for TDIE in two dimensions is presented and its precision and concision arevalidated by numerical results.4. Problems of impulse scattering from randomly rough surfaces are studied byusing TDIE. Characteristics of impulse scattering from both one-dimensional PECrough surfaces and rough surfaces associated with PEC object are numerical analyzedusing TDIE, and numerical results display that the solution developed in this paper todeal with impulse scattering from rough surfaces using TDIE is precise and validated.Still numerical results indicated that compared with MOM-IDFT , TDIE are moreefficient, which display advantage and potential of TDIE on treating problems ofimpulse scattering from rough surfaces.
