Abstract

High efficient infrared radiation ceramics were studied and obtained. The ceramics were prepared at different sintering temperatures and vary sintering time using rutile mineral in group A. Using rutile mineral as main material and transition metal oxides Fe2O3、MnO2、CuO as additive produced high efficient infrared ceramics by Orthogonal design way in group B. The experiments show: in group A ,the best sintering condition is 1300℃ temperature and 2h time. In group B, the best preparing condition is 25% additive, 1280℃ temperature and 2h time. The structure and performance of infrared radiation ceramics were obtained using SEM, XRD, XPS and Infrared Radiation Measure Apparatus. The analysis show: for group A ,the major composition is titanic matter, and the emissivity in 1~22μm band is 0.809. For group B, the photoelectron spectrums of element Cu and Fe are appeared as complex state, the major composition are spinel matter and titanic matter, and the emissivity in 1~22μm band is 0.897. Infrared emissivity of samples improved with temperature’s increase before 1300℃ in group A. Infrared emissivity of samples in middle infrared band can be improved certainly by adding transition metal oxides, especially a increase of 13.0 percent in 3~5μm, a increase of 11.0 percent in 1~22μm . The form of spinel matter is the main reason that can improve infrared emissivity notably. The infrared radiation ceramics, prepared with rutile mineral, has a significant scene in decreasing cost and improving the mineral economic value.
