Abstract


The concept of self-efficacy is put forward by Bandura.A in 1977,which is the confidence or faith that people needed in achieving behavior target in specific field. Plannings of professional career started in 1960s and was introduced into China in the mid-1990s. And it is a vital section in the theory of manpower resources management. Those samples chosen for this test are college students. The research tends to explore the application of self-efficacy theory to the plannings of professional career for college students.With the development of social market economy and expansion of college students is more and more obvious and serious, and becomes an intensive focus in present society. Besides objective factors, the key problems that college students are ignorant of their advantages, interests, abilities and society demands results in such a phenomena that makes them unable to locate themselves correctly and shows at a loss and lacking of confidence. Therefore, it is essential and urgent for us to guide college students’ plannings of professional career from psychological view, explore the relationships between self-efficacy and plannings of professional career for college students, help them cognize and anatomize themselves, consult the social demands for talents, reduce the blindness of job hunting, modify their plannings of professional career continuously, make them obtain a post smoothly and successfully.This research gets preliminary results through correlation analysis and discrepancy analysis , they go as follows:1. Self-efficacy has positive correlation to reputation and development, the correlation coefficients separately are 0.697 and 0.739, but has negative correlation to safeguard and the correlation coefficient is 0.477, and this correlation is remarkable. This indicates that college students with high self-efficacy pay more attention to the class, status, reputation, scale of the post and whether it is easy to be famous or not, etc. to meet their "respect requirement"2. Generally speaking, the self-efficacy of the male college students arehigher than female students’, when the former choose their future career, they prefer the job with challenge and bright future, so they can examine their ability and gain more confidence, while the female students prefer the job with stability and security.3. Self-efficacy of college students from cities is higher than those who came from rural area choosing future career, the latter is not demanding as high as the former in the aspects, such as the reputation, status, security and development of the post. In order to achieve success more easily, the students from rural area incline to choose the career which are easy to hunt and succeed and avoid those they cannot control or finish smoothly.This research has expanded the applied field of self-efficacy theory. From the psychology point of view, it analyses an old topic and brings us a bran-new perspective. It also provides some tips to help college students carry out their plannings of professional career scientifically. According to the research, self-efficacy has certain influence on the self-efficacy of college students and expand the application of self-efficacy theory in their professional career.
