Abstract


This thesis realized a system which designed and realized vector chart with SVG. Scalable Vector Graphics(SVG) is a W3C-recommented standard for graphics. It is a language for describing two-dimensional vector graphics in XML. JDOM provides a mode which could access XML documents through tree structure in Java. With SVG 2.0 is recommended, there is limit on tools of SVG. The “vector chart editor”is developed for user drawing SVG chart with database. It is designed based on SVG and JDOM standard and Java Swing graphics module technic. First, choose the modeling board for vector chart; then attain the data through JDBC or JDOM mode; last realize the drawing and editor and storage of the vector chart. The characteristics of this system are: independent of platform, easy expand and reuse, chart can be reedit. The system also can extend the vector chart template for different demands of development. It also can connect with database for real time data issuance. In a word, It simplify the process of the vector chart’s drawing and quicken the develop process of data publishing.
