Abstract


News factuality plays an important role both to professional journalists and to audiences. The pseudo event affair made by New York Time in 2003 has brought about collective thinking to news media all over the world. With China’s development of economy and culture, press, as social superstructure, has been changing greatly. At the same time, the appearance of illusive event and pseudo event has become non-negligible phenomenon for China’s news circle on the stage.In October, 2003, an notification on exhaustively launching a learning and educating event for journalism line on the great spirit of "three representatives", Marxist news values, occupational ideas and occupational ethics was released jointly by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, the Main Office of Broadcasting Movie and Television, the General Administration of Journalism and Publication, and the All China Federation of Working Journalists which lays stress on "...prohibiting the negative and corruptive phenomena of news published or broadcast with consideration, illusive event and pseudo event, wave of vulgar and rubbishy advertisements which are aroused strong feelings among the masses."The author goes on news’s definition, describing the phenomena of illusive event and pseudo event and dividing them. After summing up the research on illusive event and pseudo event, the author manages to divide illusive event and pseudo event into "illusive event" and "pseudo event". And the reasons why they generate and develop and their characters are being analyzed. On the basis of reasons and characters mentioned above, the author discusses legal responsibility of "illusive event" and "pseudo event" respectively. And in the end of the text, precautions against "illusive event" and "pseudo event" are being carried out.
