Abstract


With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology , a new map products - Network Map quietly born , it is changing the way people use maps , at the same time , the traditional theory of cartography and technology is a new challenge . In order to enhance the network map visualizations and interactive , this paper introduces the graphic expression based on the XML standard network technology SVG . Map theory and WebGIS technology network thematic maps for the study , in order to study a number of key technologies SVG - based web mapping direction . The paper first introduces the development status of cartography , digital mapping and GIS relations , followed by to explore thematic mapping theoretical approach , the network map design principles , and Summary of instances of in-depth research , and then to the the SARS epidemic topic Pictured of WebGIS building programs and technical , and then practice based SVG web mapping process involves a number of key technologies . The article pointed out the inadequacies of the existing thematic maps and possible means of improvement , while the outlook at the end of the prospects for the development of applications based on the SVG network map .
