Abstract


Competency is a management concept of the early 1970s, the rise in the United States. It is used to characterize those individuals who have potential in a position or office to obtain excellent performance characteristics of the term. This study selected the life insurance industry middle management, middle management staff of the life insurance industry in the context of Chinese culture competency questionnaire was used for the study, empirical exploration and research. From a combination of theoretical and empirical perspective to explore the domestic life insurance industry middle management to obtain excellent results which competency is required, the initial establishment of China's life insurance industry middle management competency model, and to explore the middle management of the population variable life insurance industry the staff competency behavior to evaluate the effects. In this study, a literature search and analysis, behavioral event interviews and other channels to collect questionnaire entries, the preparation of the initial questionnaire. Pre-test, the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results of the questionnaires, further amendments to the questionnaire compiled into the official questionnaire. Throughout the course of the study has investigated were the life insurance industry employs more than 200 people, through statistical analysis and preliminary results of the investigation in the enterprise use, reliability and credibility of the study results was tested. The results show that the life insurance industry middle management staff competency consists of eight key factors, namely: the relationship between coordination, team building and management, achievement orientation, learning to comprehend, toughness, and to adapt to the adjustment, influence, and conduct ethics. According to this study, we propose a middle management of the life insurance industry competency model list of reference for researchers and applications. Demographic variables of gender, age, education, jobs, departments, or business life: more men than women pay more attention to the \life is short pay more attention to the \understanding \The findings of this study for the life insurance industry in middle management recruitment and selection, training and development, performance evaluation and the overall quality of evaluation, compensation management, career management, human resources management to provide a reference.
