Abstract


The advent of the Internet and its rapid development is an important change to people's life, for the generation of information resources, transmission and utilization provides a great convenience, but also brought a lot of negative effects: the proliferation of network information, the quality of the information uneven and so on. Faced with this new information environment has brought new problems, Subject Information Gateway (Subject Based Information Gateways, referred to as SBIGs) emerged as the the deep organizational model of the network information. It effectively solve the deficiencies of the search engine to find a subject of academic information to improve the retrieval efficiency, a great convenience to the majority of professionals, teachers, students, researchers. Subject Information Gateway is the integration of a subject area resources, tools and services, relying on the Internet to provide users with information retrieval and service network platform. It is accompanied by the development of Internet progressive development and improvement, as a new information service platform, flexible integration, organization, information resources and information services seamlessly link required by the user, a distributed numerous complex information systems are organized into an easy to use user information space, browsing and retrieval dual function to meet the information needs of the user scientific research and education, and on this basis to support the integration of custom personalized service. The text is divided into six parts. The first part provides an overview of the subject information gateway concept, the main features, type, etc.. Subject Information Gateway network information resources deep tissue, it is an online service, its resources through artificial selection and screening of high-quality academic information. Subject Information Gateway has a professional, integration, knowledge, intelligence, reliability characteristics, the general range of disciplines involved in their organization's information resources into a comprehensive information portal, the several disciplines portal and a discipline information portal. The main body of the second part of the analysis of the subject information gateway resources selection and evaluation standards. In accordance with the subject information gateway resource selection step, we must first clear its user base, and then according to the needs of its user base to determine the range of resources included in the information content, access conditions, metadata requirements, geography and language range and the resource type, etc. Subject Information Gateway Resource Selection and evaluation criteria determined from the content, form, process, as well as the day-to-day maintenance of the resources to make certain provisions, in order to maintain discipline information portal provides information accuracy, validity, and novel and so on. I still chapter subject information gateway at home and abroad resource selection criteria were compared and analyzed.
