Abstract


The present paper systematizes and studies Andrew Wyeth’s art,with thelogic of the idea-the medium-the painting and with the method of art sociologyand picture analysis. Combining with period background, personal experience,traditional realism, the paper reveals and analyses Wyeth’s unique paintingideas,which contain the style ideas namely to use realistic technique to showabstract sense and ideas of the creation .The paper analyses the internal contactbetween the medium in Wyeth ’s art creation and his painting ideas.The papermakes four themes in his painting works as chief clues and the displaying ofpainting ideas and medium as internal clue, expounds his profound thought in theworks step by step and the features in his early works and mature works .Basedon above argument ,the paper finally discusses Wyeth ’s status in the Americanart history and influence and enlightenment in Chinese art.
