Abstract

Objective: Malignant tumor is one of the most health-threatening diseases in the world. Metastasis of malignant tumor leading to failure of multi-visceral organs is the main cause of tumor related death. Now preventing metastasis is one of the key ways for the tumors treatment. With the increasing research of tumor molecular biology, tumor metastasis is found to be a spontaneous and complicated biologic process which consists of the following steps: cancer cells proliferating at the primary focus, falling off, invading metastasis position and continuing to proliferate. The form of metastasis also requires other multifactor to interact besides corresponding malignant phenotype due to abnormal genome. The adhesion factor is one of the important factors. E-cadherin is the important component of cell adhesion family. And E-cadherin is a kind of dependent Ca2+ transmembrane glyprotein located in the epithelium. It can mediate cellular adhesion, regulate cellular polarity and maintain cellular integrality. The down-regulation or deletion of E-cadherin can lead to the decrease of cellular adhesion and promote tumor metastasizing. Abnormal expression of E-cadherin protein is found in many tumors.Ovary cancer is one of three malignant tumors in feminine genitalia. The ovary cancer has following characteristics: cancer cells falling off from the primary focus, entering ascites, and planting on the surface of caul, chorion and mesentery widely. The studies show that adhesion and metastasis of cancer cells has the close relationship with E-cadherin protein. HO-8910 was the ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma cell line established
