Expression and Clinical Significance of Ezrin Protein and E-cad in Cervical Cancer

Abstract


Purpose : the detection of cervical cancer tissue ezrin (Ezrin) and E - cadherin (E-cad) , analysis of Ezrin and E-cad expression with clinicopathological parameters in cervical cancer , and their mutual investigate the relationship between Ezrin and E-cad in the development of cervical cancer , the infiltration of the role and clinical significance . Methods: Immunohistochemical staining (SP method) Ezrin protein and E-cad expression in 53 cases of cervical cancer were detected , and conducted a controlled study with 10 cases of normal cervical tissue , with x ~ 2 test , Spearman rank correlation analysis method to analyze Ezrin protein and E-cad and the clinical and pathological features Ezrin protein and E-cad correlation . Results: 53 cases of invasive cervical cancer and 10 cases of normal cervical , and 13 cases of metastatic lymph nodes Ezrin and E-cad expression . Ezrin and E-cad in invasive cervical cancer tissue , abnormal expression was significantly higher than normal cervical tissue ( P <0.05 ) , the correlation of Ezrin and E-cad . Ezrin and E-cad expression with clinical stage, pathological type were not correlated (P> 0.05); histological grade , degree of tumor infiltration , lymphatic metastasis ( P <0.05 ) . Ezrin and abnormal expression of E-cad in cervical cancer and cervical cancer invasive behavior , their combination may become one of the indicators of clinical guiding treatment and predicting cervical cancer prognosis . Conclusion : 1 . The Ezrin protein overexpression in cervical cancer and the expression of E-cad abnormal , both possible infiltration plays an important role in the development of cervical cancer . 2. Ezrin and E-cad expression with clinical stage, pathological type , histological grade , lymph node metastasis, tumor infiltration degree ( P <0.05 ) . Were not correlated (P> 0.05); 3. Ezrin and E-cad correlation , suggesting Ezrin protein may be some mechanism for the regulation of E-cad expression thereby promoting tumor cell invasion and metastasis .
