Objective: To explore traditional Chinese medicine anti-epileptic lit on the pentylenetetrazol (Pentylenetetrazole, PTZ) induced rat models of NMDA receptor activity and increased intelligence particles in the water maze learning and memory abilities. : Sub-convulsive dose of PTZ (32mg/kg) by intraperitoneal injection induced kindling attack, screening V class VI attack rats as experimental subjects were randomly divided into model group, low dose group of anti-epileptic, anti-epileptic high-dose group and western medicine group, take another eight normal rats as control. The following observations: 1, behavioral observation;, learning, memory capacity test; 3, the cerebral cortex, hippocampus NMDA receptor binding capacity test. Results: 1. Behavioral experiments: anti-epileptic Zengzhi particles can significantly against seizure kindling model in rats, the attack level and latency with the model group were compared to the significant difference P <0.05, its anticonvulsant effects of the drug dose relevant. Compared to the traditional Chinese medicine group and western medicine group the difference was not significant P> 0.05. 2 NMDA receptor binding capacity experiment: Compared with normal control group, model control group NMDA receptor activity was significantly increased, the difference was significant P <0.05 . Compared with the model group, the anti-epileptic low-dose group, the anti-epileptic high-dose group, sodium valproate group of NMDA receptor activity reduced, but the difference was not significant; compared with the normal control group, model control group cortex NMDA receptors body activity was significantly increased, the difference was significant P <0.05. Compared with the model group, cortical NMDA receptor activity of anti-epileptic high-dose group, sodium valproate group of NMDA receptor activity was significantly lower, the difference was significant P <0.05, low-dose group of anti-epileptic NMDA receptor activity was reduced, but the difference was not statistically significant. 3 water maze test results show that: the water maze test results show that the model group looking for a platform for the required time (22.8 ± 9.1s) than the normal control group (8.5 ± 4.1s) significantly increased the difference was significant P <0.05. Compared with the model group, Chinese high-dose group looking for a platform for the required time (9.5 ± 7.6s) was significantly shorter than the model group (22.8 ± 9.1s) difference significant P lt; 0.05. The time required for the low dose group (11.9 ± 6.0s), sodium valproate group (13.5 ± 4.8s) compared with the model group shortened, but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Chinese medicine preparations of anti-epileptic Zengzhi particles can be effective against seizures kindling model in rats, the attack level to reduce latency; improve learning and memory function kindling model in rats; its function may be associated with the regulation of NMDA receptor activity .
