Abstract


Since launched in 1983, CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala has accompanied with Chinese people during which nearly three decades, the most important period of "reform and opening". It will be presented in front of hundreds of millions of viewers at every New Year’s Eve. Staying up in the New Year’s Eve and gathering together with the family to watch the Spring Festival gala has become a unique television event and cultural event, also known as China’s "New Folk", which has unconsciously influenced Chinese culture. Over the years, is has become the most anticipated television program in China each year, drawing the most attention, having the most solemn atmosphere and most cultural connotation of a ceremony. During the last three decades’history and culture accumulation, the Spring Festival Gala is constantly enriched and improved. At the same time each year, in this most important traditional Chinese festival, the Spring Festival Gala has become the focus and hot spots of people’s life. The annual Spring Festival Gala has become an essential cultural activity as important to the family reunion dinner. In these twenty-eight years it brings countless laughs and heart-touching moments to the millions of Chinese people and the people around the world. However, with its fixed annual Spring Festival Evening show style and form, it has been well known to most Chinese people, but it is also a growing number of viewers, especially the younger generation of viewers had a "fatigued feeling". At the same time, with the rapid development of network technology in recent years, Internet users has increasingly grown, and the network show, and mobile video and other new forms of Chinese New Year Spring Festival Evening Gala has came into being. This article takes "Network Spring Festival Gala" as a sub-culture form. Its rebellious and innovative spirit, a grass-roots flavor and the wisdom of Internet users greatly favor the people’s life. As a mainstream culture, will the traditional Spring Festival Gala be impacted by Network Spring Festival Gala? Will its original meaning and cultural connotation suffer from this sub-culture? Of course, between sub-culture and mainstream culture, there is not always confrontation relationship. With the historical development and social transformation, sometimes dominant culture and subculture can convert into each other; the dominant culture gradually will be affected, turned into the sub-culture. It is undeniable that the network can meet the needs of the public in the Spring Festival, playing a very important role of promoting social and cultural aspects. I think we should continue to promote the development and improvement of "Network Spring Festival Gala" for the majority of the audience, and present and provide more and more rich, healthier entertainment.
