Abstract


This paper is supported by the project of National Nature Science Foundation of China researching on Reasoning ’Theories of Experience Knowledge’ (No.60273087), and the project of Hi-Tch Research and Development of 863 Program of China researching on ’Attemper Systems of Produce Plan and Real Time Optimization’ (No.2002AA412020).Along with the problems which people need to be solved become complex increasingly, the researches on multi-agent system (MAS) have been developed to the level of society, viz. researching on multi-agent society. Though there are lots of fruits, the system info of multi-agent society is faulty especially in the sociality: The microcosmic theory representing research on the mental model of the individual agent only extends the sociality based on the mental model of the individual agent and does not fall together both them completely. The macrocosmic theory including research on the whole structure should be deepened from the view of society to researching on the various structural modalities in the multi-agent society. In a word, the research of multi-agent society should be developed from two levels of the microcosmic and the macrocosmic and the two levels should be fused. In this way, we can constitute an united system info of multi-agent society to offer academic guidance for problem solve based multi-agent society. This paper develops the existing research on the models of multi-agent society based on the above ideas and gets some harvests, which are as follows:(1) Presenting the model of roles and the role based mental model of agentsThe individuals in the society of human being interact with each other during the course of taking on roles and bringing into play his functions to embody their sociality. Hereby, comparing with the society of human, we should first describe abstractly the concept of roles in the researches of the sociality of agents, and presents the models of roles. In this way, the various social concepts including permission, obligations, norms and relations can be held in the category of roles.
