Abstract


Based on the analysis of appraisal object and subject, the appraisal theory has been exploited, the appraisal software has completely been developed, and the appraisal practice has been studied in order to expond the appraisal of tropical plantation sustainable management in Yunnan under systematic way. Results presented in this thesis can be summarized as follows:- As appraisal object, tropical plantation expands very quickly and loads much new problem. To implement forest sustainable management strategy, tropical plantation develops in sustainable way.- As appraisal subject, management unit, community and farmer of tropical plantation and other partner should smoothly communicate with other stakeholder to identify their function and interest in tropical plantation sustainable management activity. If stakeholder’s interest can well be guaranteed, stakeholders take positive effect and tropical plantation sustainable management can effectively be implemented.- The most important way of tropical plantation sustainable management is to establish the criterion and indicators’ system of sustainable management and implement them by forest certification. The study on criterion and indicator’s system of tropical plantation sustainable management is the key issue of appraisal theory.- The appraisal of tropical plantation usually involves productiveity, diversity, sustainability, stability and system effect.- Under the framework of the criterion and indicator’s system of forest sustainable management in international, national and regional levels, the indicator system of tropical plantation sustainable management in Yunnan are presented by object and attribute parsing methodology. The indicator system includes 65 indicators related to management unit, pre-afforestation and post-afforestation.- The quantification and computerization of appraisal is the result of science and technology development. It is difficult to use the appraisal software made in other country and the appraisal software is severely under-developed in China. It is necessary to establish the appraisal software in our own way in order to stimulate the appraisal activity of tropical plantation.- The newly developed appraisal software has three function modules such as data management module, statistical analysis module and diagram module. The software includes 140 mathematical appraisal methods in 8 categories such as experimental design, sampling, statistic, multi-statistic, professional statistic, linear programming, management decision and model etc. The software almost covers all appraisal method and can satisfy the appraisal of tropical plantation.- The computer procedure of principal analysis and multi-variation quantification module indicates the appraisal software the characters of localization, visualization, integration, compatibility and usability.- The most important appraisal activity in tropical plantation sustainable management appraisal is ’forest cerfication’. The implementation of forest cerfication in tropical plantation of Yunnan will accelerate forestry sustainable development in Yunnan, and boost the forest certification in China.
