Abstract


This paper mainly introduced point of sale system in a domestic. The author had the honor to join in the designing and developing of the system. The POS terminal system in the family system, now widely used in shopping malls, gas stations and other places, provides consumers with a consumer credit card business. The system will deal with the users’consumption amount to the bank card account processing system, thus completing the consumer credit card business. On the one hand, the fully functional pos systems are easy to use, functional, safe and efficient as the same with the general POS system; on the other hand, the fully functional pos systems are the preferred choice because of its low cost, easy to put the advantages of large-scale. This paper descript the structure and function of this system in detail according to the requirements analysis which included architecture design, function design, function realization and performance testing process.POS system is a fully functional banking system, an important terminal subsystem. The system is a new self-service payment terminal systems that in general based on the expansion of fixed-line magnetic stripe card/chip card reader, receipt printer, hardware encryption and other professional financial peripherals for clients providing safe, fast, reliable information and electronic payment services. The system is a combination of financial payment technology and fixed-line communications technology. Customers can be realized consumer payment, transfer and settlement, information inquiries and other financial services without going out.The system developed in UNIX-environment, and programmed financial business using C language. Features includes signing, consumer business, day revocation\next day return service, transfer business, check service, inquiry services, printing business, the original telephone function. In this paper, we made a detailed analysis about the important basic public modules such as the design of communication, card design analytical processing, string processing design and so on. Design and processing mechanism through which makes the work of these hardware processors in an orderly and efficient completion of all financial business process.In summary, fully functional POS systems expanded system’s self-help model and enriched channel financial services for clients. This payment model provides a new idea for customers’convenience paying off. With the emergence of large communities appearing, residents have a increasingly high demand for ancillary services. They generally need a nearby paying of utility bills, telephone bills, gas, cable television fees and charges for public utility services. Large number of credit card customers have the actual demand of repaying credit card overdrafts in the nearest. With full-featured POS system constantly upgrade, built-in full-featured POS payment terminal system into the community to provide more convenient services for individuals and to efficiently ease the pressure of network of commercial banks.
