Abstract


The growth of the variant forms is an important reason for growth in the number of Chinese characters. Research of the variant forms, a character study an important aspect of ontology is to study the evolution of Chinese Characters as a starting point the law, while the consolidation and standardization of Chinese characters work can play a certain role, has important practical significance.Their Inscriptions literature has strong authenticity,can reflect the outlook of the character in its era truly and accurately.The number of variant forms in Tang Dynasty inscriptions is huge and almost has a variant on each side epitaph.North Mangshan in Luoyang has always been talked by traditional geomancy as a good place,because the tomb is so much,and nowhere can comparable to.And thus the Tang Dynasty inscriptions in Luoyang has unparalleled value.We choose part of the inscriptions of Tang Dynasty which are included in "Luoyang sequel of epitaphs which Unearthed"as the object of study, and sort and study the period of the variant forms of words to reflect the look of the variant. Expect to providing a basis for us to enrich and Perfecting the System of the development of Chinese characters.Apart from "Introduction", this article is divided into four chapters:"Introduction" section introduces the significance of the topic of this article, research materials, research methods; the first chapter "the definition of variant", mainly discusses and nails dow the definition of the variant forms used by this article; the second chapter based on variant forms of "The Sequel of Luoyang Epitaph which Newly Unearthed"(part of the Tang Dynasty), analyzed and summarized the local variant analysis in Tang Dynasty systematically; the third chapter based on a large number of examples as same as the second chapter to analyze the condition on component variations; the forth chapter, we Proofreading46block epitaphs in "The Sequel of Luoyang Epitaph which Newly Unearthed"(part of the Tang Dynasty)
