Abstract


Film and television historian is the 20th century, a new type of historical research , it relies on 19th century photography and film culture in the 20th century prosperity , the discussion to visual images and videos to convey the history and history researchers of history insights. Compared to historical writing , film and television historical attention by historians for its local historical scenarios can be more intuitive to reproduce . This topic is the author used the methodology of film and television historian , a phase syndrome History research and practice . This since the Huaying John ? Thomson Late Qing photographic work for the study, by summarizing the works in Hong Kong, Macau , Guangdong , Taiwan and other places the late Qing Photography historical and quantitative statistical summary of the content and characteristics of the historical and a comparative study with other relevant documents , and strive to make a comprehensive, objective and reasonable evaluation of its historical value . Studies suggest that , John ? Not yet be aware that due to its mostly the same period photographer in China do not want to shoot or rarely documented and not by historians to explore , research and the use of Chinese and foreign official history , so it has a higher value historian . Inadequate is that part of the historical error of expression , affect the historical authenticity .
