Abstract


Ultraviolet Sensors (UVSs) attracted much attention due to their wide applications in fields like military, environmental pollution monitoring, fire detection and astronomical study. UV sensitive organic semiconductors recently attracted increasing attention because of the advantages of easy processing as well as low cost of fabrication compared to their inorganic counterparts.In this paper, the triphenylbenzene-containing carbazole derivative (3,6-di(1,1’:3’,1"-terphenyl-5’-y l)-9-(2-ethyl)hexylcarbazole, PCP) and biphenyl-containing fluorene derivative (2-(1,1’:3’,1"-terphenyl-5’-y l)-9,9-bis(4-dipheny laminophenyl)fluorine, FP) with wide bandgap, good hole mobility and excellent thermal stability was synthesized and used as electron donor to construct planar heteroj unction organic ultraviolet sensors (UVSs), while bis(4-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl)phenyl)diphenylsilane (NSN) was used as electron acceptor. The UVS presents good responses to the visible-blind UV signals.The influence of the cathode material on the response spectrum was studied. With the PCP based device as an example, when the semitransparent cathode Al (9nm)/Ag (30nm) was substituted with Al (13nm), the response spectrum of the device to the signals from ITO side moves from300-400nm to300-380nm, the response spectrum to the signals from cathode side moves from230-400nm to210-380nm.
