Abstract

"Memory needs gave birth to record, record control selected archives, archives preserved history specimen--historical culture inheritance in archives." Archival culture plays an important, irreplaceable historical position in the traditional cultural heritage.In addition, with the advance of the historical process, this historical status shows different character in different stages,and expresses through a variety of modes of action:evidence, propagation,propaganda,education and so on. The evolution of the historical status is affected by multiple factors, from different perspectives will get different conclusions. Based on the theory of archival dualistic value perspective, the historical status is mainly restricted by the social archival values which the society hold, manifesting different characteristics according to its change.If we took the process of formation and development of nodes to archival dualistic value as the main line, China’s history can be divided into three stages——the slave society and feudal society dominated by one element value,the modern society which the archival values transfer from one element value to dual value, the contemporary society under the guidance of dual value.The slave society and feudal society was dominated by one element value, in this period,archives consciousness began to germinate and increasingly mature, independent with the historical process,the content of archival culture became increasingly rich as well.However,the archival culture of this period had always been a strong political vassal color, failing to form a archival cultural consciousness. Based on the viewpoint of history longitudinal development, archival culture in this period recorded the Chinese traditional culture and promoted its heritage.It accumulated a large number of cultural wealth for the Chinese traditional culture. At the same time, in this period,archival culture occupied a unique and important position in the social culture, and had an important influence on the social culture. With feudal system’s crumble,in modern times, the social archival values had an innovative development-moving from focusing only on " instrumental value" to paying equal attention to dualistic value, which had become the major feature of the archives theory in this times. The characteristics of the archival behavior were mainly as follows:the work to sort out the historical archives as the representative to realize the archives information value development and the administrative archives reform movement as the representative of the archives tool value along both lines, and complemented each other, and ultimately promoted the preliminary development of Chinese archival science.Based on the good development of the archives utility, in the guidance of archival dualistic value,the contemporary archival culture presents new features:First, the consciousness of archival culture generate and has a rapid development,the construction of archival culture has clear level, rich content and balanced development. Second, archival culture has been assimilated into social culture and affect it positively by the archives workers’efforts.Third, the position and function of archival culture in the traditional cultural heritage has a qualitative change——archival culture consciousness prompted archives workers consciously take the initiative to assume the responsibility of cultural heritage, and explore a variety of ways of archival culture in the traditional cultural heritage.Based on carding and summary of the historical characteristics of archival culture and the further exploration and research,we can find that, the historical status of archival culture in the inheritance of traditional culture has the following characteristics:The slave society and feudal society dominated by one element value, due to social neglect of archives information value, inheritance of archival culture to traditional culture only depended on the political power to passive implementation. Therefore, archival cultural heritage status was restricted by the degree of attention that the rulers pay to the archives and archival work. On the other hand, archival culture status was still reeling from the diversification of social cultural development. Under the effect of double factors, from slave society to feudal society period, archival cultural historical status in the traditional cultural heritage in general showed a decreasing trajectory. In addition, during this period, the inheritance mode of action of archival culture was simple. Whether as a government reference, or to " distinguish academic development ", archives only played the instrumental value as reference or evidence, other fuctions as media function, the role of publicity and education corresponding to value of information had limitations in the period.In modern period, dual value increasingly generated.As an important part of social culture, archival culture witnessed and promoted the modernization and the modern transformation of Chinese traditional culture. After estranging from political shackles, archival culture took the initiative to assume responsibility in inheritance of Chinese traditional culture, and fulfilled this duty well. When Chinese traditional culture broke out of essence culture and met the challenge of western culture, it was modern archival culture that assistant scholars draw the essence from traditional culture powerfully, thus in the cultural collision with western world, reflected on the growth,and laid foundations for the reform and development of traditional culture in the future.After the founding of PRC, Chinese traditional culture encountered new challenges under the impact of modernization. The archives utility played an important role in cultural heritage of social memory, and reproducing the historical appearance. With stepping into contemporary period, traditional culture now face double impact by modernization and western culture, on this condition,however,archives workers adhere to the historian spirit form the Spring and Autumn period, being responsible for the history, responsible for the future, firmly holding the archive which is cohesion of the Chinese traditional culture essence. They innovate the modes of action of archival culture in the traditional cultural heritage actively, which plays an important role in traditional culture to complete the modern reform and innovation. Compared with the earlier period, in contemporary sociey,the status and role of archival culture in traditional culture inheritance has a qualitative leap.Characteristics of things in essence are just the accidental appearance under actions of the law, archival cultural heritage status is no exception. Standing on a macro perspective, we can see, both the evolution of archival culture status in cultural heritage, and its modes of aciton show some regularity. Rules of this two elements, to some extent,also influence each other and mutual restrict each other, thus constituting the evolution law system of archival cultural heritage status from the Dualistic Value Theory perspective:The evolution trajectory of archival culture status in traditional cultural heritage is phenomenon,and the surface law also,namely the evolution trajectory showing obvious trend under the effect of archives value; The historical role of archival culture is the direct cause of the phenomenon of surface, which as the middle level law,namely inheritance of archival culture to traditional culture gradually move from unconsciously passive implementation to consciously taking action, and with the advance of the historical process,appering diversified characteristics; Back in above elements, which determine the revolution of archival cultural status is the transformation and development of archival value, archival value and archival heritage status interaction constituted the influence rule of the law system of the deep.
