The producer services play an increasingly prominent role in promoting economicdevelopment and are widely regarded as boosters of economic development. The correctunderstanding of industrial characteristics of Jiangxi producer services and the relationshipbetween producer services and other industries is basis of producer services developmentpolicies. In order to provide scientific basis of Jiangxi industrial restructuring, based onresearch of relevant issues and input-output table, this paper analyzes input structure, outputstructure, industrial association, efficiency situation of Jiangxi producer services usinginput-output technology and data envelopment analysis, and also makes recommendations.Firstly, according to the functional definition of producer services, this paper identifiesservice sectors which intermediate demand rate is greater than50%as producer services,avoiding artificial division does not fully reflect the current situation and problems ofproducer services in Jiangxi. In order to capture overall characteristics of Jiangxi producerservices, this paper readjusts the input-output table in2007. Internal departments of theprimary industry are combined into primary industry, internal departments of the secondaryindustry are combined into secondary industry, the service sectors belong to producer servicesare combined into producer services, the remaining service sectors are combined intoconsumer services.Secondly, this paper analyzes input structure, output structure, industrial associationthrough the coefficient of input structure, the coefficient of output structure, consumptioncoefficient, the coefficients of sensitivity and influence, and so on. Results show that: theimportant input departments of producer services are the production and supply of electricityand heat, road transport, banking, securities, and other financial activities sector. The mainoutput-flow departments of producer services are wholesale and retail industry, steel rollingprocessing industry, construction, electricity and heat production and supply industry andother sectors. There is close interdependent relationship between producer services and thesecondary industry. The leading role of producer services to secondary industry is strongerthan the role of secondary industry to producer services.Then, this paper evaluates efficiency of producer services using data envelopmentanalysis. Based on input-output table in2007, this article establishes C2R model, analyzesefficiency from the DEA validity angle, and makes recommendations for efficiencyimprovements. Results show that: In24departments of Jiangxi producer services, in additionto road transport, wholesale and retail trade, catering and health industry, the remaining20 departments are non DEA. Input-output ratio is unreasonable. Finally, the paper summarizesconclusions and put forward suggestions to promote development of producer services inJiangxi.
