As an important part of modern service industry, producer services have become a pillar industry in many Western countries, and it’s an important impetus to the industrial transfor- mation and upgrading or boosting international competitiveness. Currently, in China, in order to get more profits which only from additional input in the production, whose potential is very small, because the clothing manufacturing has been fiercely competed.Overseas practice experience shows that the producer services have many functions of deepening industry division, reducing costs, improving efficiency and innovation, and it is also the main source for value added into garment products and competition differentiation. Researching the affect of producer services to garment manufacturing’s upgrading and development, and the problems between the two in the interaction development, for China which is trying to take a new road to industrialization, which has important theoretic value and urgency practical significance.Because there are still some different views on research of the category of producer services among domestic and foreign scholars. Based on the previous studies, the paper defined the producer services as logistics services, financial services, business services, information and software services, scientific research and technical services and education services and so on. Through the natural logarithm of producer services added value and the garment industrial output value of 1996 to 2008, which makes unit root test, stability test, the Granger causality test and co-integration test, we got the Granger causes that growth of producer services that will lead manufacturing growth, the first-order residual series unit root test is stable, and the final regression model is significant. Regression results show that the whole producer services have significantly positive effect to garment manufacturing, if producer services increased by 1 unit, garment manufacturing will corresponding increase 0.947 unit.Through the input- output method to calculate the direct consumption coefficient, coefficient of total consumption, influence coefficient and sensitivity coefficients of all industrial sectors in input-output table,empirical results show that the traditional producer services such as logistics service, business services and financial service have more great impacts to our garment manufacturing currently,Among them, logistics service is the strongest one which depended and stimulated by the garment industry; New producer services such as information and software service and scientific research and technical service, have a common influence to our garment manufacturing, however, these influences have obvioussly growing trend;Education service influence to clothing manufacturing is the weakest one. According to empirical results, based on the garment manufacturing, we got some developing policies and recommendations, such as focus on developing new producer services of high-tech and knowledge-intensive, and then further developing the traditional producer services, also,we must pay great attention to talent cultivation for explore the higher education mechanism in line with China’s national conditions and personnel training system, furthemore utilizing advantages of industrial clusters to promote the "garment manufacturing and producer services" integrated development.
