Abstract


Japan, as the second largest economy country in the world, had taken great economicgrowth after world war two. The great success of economic was mainly depended on theJapanese traditional lifetime employment system. This typically lifetime employment hadplayed an invaluable role in stabling employment and coordinating labor relations. Also, itwas considered to be the magic weapon for supporting the rapid development of Japan formore than30years. However, along with the acceleration of global economic integration andthe increasingly fierce competition among enterprises, the traditional lifetime employmentcannot meet the needs of the times and economic development and lost its former glorygradually. Therefore, the research of the changes in the Japanese lifetime employment isparticularly important. Many Japanese companies have already begun to re-examine thelifetime employment system, and made a series of changes to bring benefits for the enterprise.This paper analyzed the formation,the development, the current status and the reformmeasures. Through the qualitative research and quantitative research, we can find that theenterprises of Japan have taken a series of changes to the lifetime employment to adapt theenvironment. The Japanese enterprises should separate the employees to different parts baseon the human flexibility theory and develop four programs. Then design a questionnaire tocollect data and get the conclusion through calculation and analysis of the questionnaire.At last, we can find that to carry out the lifetime employments to the core employeeswhom are represent the core competitions of the enterprises is the most effective program.Thus the companies can ensure the long term employment to the core employees and ensurethe core competitions at the same time.
