Abstract


As the product of the medical system reform, private hospitals undertake the responsibility of building the multi-level and diversified competition orderly medical market and breaking market monopoly of the public hospital. The development of private hospitals provides more choices for the increasing demand of health service. But private hospitals, which are characteristic of enterprise properties, still have a lot of trouble. And the perfect combination of enterprise management and health services is far too achieved. With the deepening of the new health-care reform, private hospitals are faced with rare opportunities of development and severe challenges.Objective:Through the investigation of private hospitals in Qingdao, the present situation and the difficulties existing in hospital development are found. The corresponding strategies for hospital managers are given on the basis of the development of for private hospitals.Method:Using descriptive statistics analysis method to investigate private hospital development present situation. By means of the modem strategic management theory, resource competitiveness and SWOT methodology, the key influential factors of the external and internal environments are analyzed and evaluation index system and competition strategies are displayed.Result and Conclusion:Status study: Private hospitals have become the indispensable force in the health system. The private hospitals are characteristic of specialty. The efficiency of medical service of private hospitals was lower than that of public hospitals. The achievement of qualification of hospitalization insurance, tax policy are the policy obstacles for the progress of private hospitals. But the fundamental reason is absence of long-run competition strategies.Competition strategies:The paper presented the performance of environment, resource and competence in the mechanism of hospital competitiveness. An evaluation index system of competitiveness of hospital was established based on the study. Private hospitals may cover the market segment by using the Target centralization strategy in short time. And differentiation strategy can provide long term competitive advantage for private hospitals. Meanwhile, three competition strategies of private hospitals are given through analysis of circumstance. Improve the ability of resource management and enhance the ability of resource conformity. And most important, cultivate the ability of innovation. The continuable progress of private hospitals can be obtained by using the long-term strategic project and improving the quality of medical service.
