Abstract

Objective: To establish post- status epilepticus model of temporal lobe epilepsy , recurrent spontaneous rat (spontaneous recurrent seizures, SRS) scenarios for the pathogenesis and treatment of epilepsy research foundation . Methods : Continuous electrical stimulation of the amygdala 20 minutes ( single-phase square wave , the intensity 400μA, pulse width lms, string length 100ms, strings separated 0.5s, frequency 60 Hz) induced status epilepticus (status epilepticus, SE), followed by 3 hours of the SE observation, including rat behavior and EEG changes . SE state leads conducted after 3 months of the video monitor , the rats onset of spontaneous seizures and grouped. Results: After a period of three months of video observation , there SRS14 only ( 67% ) ; does not appear by seven ( 33% ) . Grade 3-5 episodes were recorded 181 times. Of which three episodes 10 times ( 5.53% ) , four episodes of 77 ( 42.54% ) , five episodes of 94 ( 51.93% ) . Attack at more than 30 times 3 ; 20 times -30 times in one ; 10 times -20 times in 2 ,5 -10 times in two ; 5 times less 6 . Approximately 73 % of the SRS in the daytime ( 07:00-19:00 ) , 74% of secondary generalized seizures ( 4,5-level attack ) appeared in the daytime . Conclusion : This study successfully used electrical stimulation of the amygdala was prepared Wistar rats after status epilepticus animal model of temporal lobe epilepsy , for some indicators were observed and studied , and with temporal lobe epilepsy were compared with other relevant models for the next pathology, molecular biology and treatment of other research foundation.
