This Paper is made to exploration and research on the development strategy based on the actual situation and existing problems within the rare earth industry in Jiangxi Province. It’s the position for Jiangxi rare earth industry development in China, the advantage for middle-heavy rare earth resource possessed and the technical comparative advantages on the aspects of separation, rare earth metals, alloys and application of new materials as well as existing problems such as quick resource consumption, construction of industry chain, decentralized management and environmental protection and treatment have been unveils within this Paper, relying on analysis of phenomenon and problems of Jiangxi rare earth industry and macroeconomic together with industrial internal circumstance confronted for the development for the industry with application of enterprise strategic management theory and enterprise strategic situation analysis method. Meanwhile, the Michael Porter Diamond Model and SWOT theory have been applied to analyze the development strategy of rare earth industry in Jiangxi Province, through which the development strategic principle and development model option have been concluded. It’s to establish South (Jiangxi) Rare Earth Group Corporation through M&A, bankruptcy and reorganization of Jiangxi rare earth resource, smelting and separation and high-tech application material companies by the provincial large industrial company Jiangxi Rare Earth & Rare Metals Tungsten Group Co., Ltd. as leader and based on which, the upgrade of centralization of industry, research level and innovation capacity, the transition of management mechanism, centralized and scaled management as well as the transformation from resource to economic advantage together with healthy and sustainable development strategic objective can be realized.
