Normal infant brain development research as a growing concern of research in recent years has made great progress. Its value lies in the grasp of normal brain development in infants and young children during the characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders has important implications, the present study normal brain development in infants diagnostic imaging methods are mainly high field MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging , MRI), diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (Diffusion-Weighted Imaging, DWI), fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fMRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, MRS) and other research methods. MRS as is currently the only noninvasive quantitative analysis of human organs and tissue metabolism biochemical compound, has become a sophisticated diagnostic techniques applied to the human body, especially in the central nervous system diseases in particular is attracting much attention, becoming proton spectroscopy study hot, with a high clinical value. Application of multi-voxel proton spectroscopy (Two Dimensions 1H Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, 2D-1HMRS) research methods, measurement of different ages 3 years and different anatomical sites in different relative concentrations of metabolites of content and distribution, calculating brain metabolite The relative concentration ratio, the establishment of normal infant brain metabolite ratios relative to the reference value of the standard concentration, reaching from the molecular level to master the normal brain development of infants and young children during the features. An object of study subjects: from July 2008 to November 2009 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, unenhanced MRI and multi-voxel spectroscopy examination within 3 years 240 cases of normal infants. Based on age characteristics of infants and young children, within the 240 cases of infants under 3 years divided into 8 groups of 30 cases, 15 cases of men and women. 2 Methods of GE Signa 1.5T superconducting MRI scanners, head quadrature coil for infants and young children and spectral unenhanced MRI examination, the collected images themselves transferred to GE post-processing workstation (ADW4.2), with Functool spectral data acquisition software for processing, analysis, access to different ages, different parts of the normal brain tissue and different spectral graph metabolites NAA, Cr, Cho relative concentrations, calculate the NAA / Cr, NAA / Cho, Cho / Cr ratios relative concentration. 3 software package SPSS 13.0 statistical tests applied, the resulting data to x ± s said that the proceeds of different ages, different parts of the metabolite ratios homogeneity of variance with Levene test and ANOVA; different ages metabolite ratios age variation, with a correlation analysis and Logistic regression analysis. Test using a = 0.05. A bilateral basal ganglia and thalamus of NAA / Cho, NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr was no significant difference between genders (P gt; 0.05). Two bilateral basal ganglia and thalamus of NAA / Cho, NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr in all age groups were statistically significant differences (P = 0.000), and thus the number of each age group were pairwise comparison, Cho / Cr, NAA / Ch 0 to 3 months 3 to 6 months, and the other groups were statistically significant (P lt; 0.05). NAA / Cr in 0-3 months and the other groups were statistically different (P lt; 0.05). Three symmetrical parts of the basal ganglia NAA / Cho, NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr and hypothalamus symmetrical parts of NAA / Cho, NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr were not statistically different between (P gt; 0.05), basal ganglia and thalamus of the same age in the same ratio was no significant difference (P gt; 0.05). 4 bilateral basal ganglia and thalamus of Cho / Cr and age has a negative correlation with age and decreased, NAA / Cho, NAA / Cr and age is positively correlated with age and growth. More than one voxel 1HMRS can be measured NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr, NAA / Cho ratio relative concentration, the ratio of the relative concentrations of metabolites to develop quantitative form, providing normal infant brain metabolite ratios relative concentrations of the reference standard. Two normal infant brain tissue in different anatomical sites, different age groups NAA / Cr, Cho / Cr, NAA / Cho ratio relative concentrations vary, no gender differences in left and right side, but the correlation with age. Over 3 voxel spectroscopy examination as a safe, non-invasive, time-saving, accurate evaluation of the molecular normal brain development in infants diagnostic method has its unique advantages.
