Abstract


China with its rich natural landscape and cultural landscape to promote the vigorous development of the tourism industry , each year tens of thousands of foreign tourists into China . According to the World Tourism Organization predicts that by 2020 , China will become the world 's largest tourist country . One can imagine various tourist attractions as an important foreign promotional materials - Tourism Translation Text in the tourism industry 's role will become increasingly significant , will become the dissemination of tourism information and Chinese culture is an important bridge. Xi'an as Chinese historical and cultural city , tourist attractions all over the city , attracting more and more foreign tourists. However, information on various tourist attractions in Xi'an Translation of English , but there are serious quality problems, which greatly influenced the city's exchanges with foreign tourists effect , weakening the Xi'an 's international charm. According to the German functionalist translation theory, function and purpose of the target text should be achieved on the target audience , any prejudice to achieve this functionality are considered to translation problems , but can not solve the problem of translation will lead to translation errors . Christine Nord who will translate the problem into four categories: linguistic , pragmatic class , culture, class , and text classes. Combination of the major tourist attractions in Xi'an investigation, analysis found that the current text of Xi'an Tourism Translation problems in the main language , pragmatics and cultural issues . This paper mainly functionalist theory, qualitative research methods, the translation errors are classified and analysis, that the cause of these errors and problems translate the main reason is that Chinese and English the national language and culture of two quite different aspects . Based on this , the authors compared the methods used to conduct a detailed analysis of these two aspects in order to improve the quality of tourism translation of the text . Finally, the paper also discusses several effective translation methods in order to better achieve the intended functionality tourism text .
