Abstract


Dr. George Spindler (George D.Spindler) (1920 -) is a well-known contemporary American education anthropologist. Long before World War II, the use of anthropological concepts and methods in the analysis of the educational process, after the war to continue research work in Wisconsin. Field studies fieldwork in 1948 in the United States, Canada and Germany, the style of the anthropological study of American culture and education. John Gay. Fulks Prize was awarded in 1947 -1948 years. The work at Stanford University in 1950, he served as the anthropology department head. 1952 by the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, anthropology, sociology and a doctorate in psychology. 1954 Spindler organized the famous Stanford Anthropology and Education Conference, this event marks the formation of the Education and Anthropology. 1962-1966, Spindler together with his wife served as the editor of the journal of the American anthropologist. Spindler's research involves cultural transmission, interdisciplinary evaluation of the relationship of personality and culture, urbanization and rural areas in the German identity, cultural changes and modernization, the exploration of educational anthropology, ethnography of schooling. Spindler life diligent, himself, and made a great contribution to the construction and development of educational anthropology.
