Abstract


Work in the same boat crew from different countries in the international shipping community , is a very common phenomenon . Therefore, it is possible to effectively and shipboard and shore - based staff exchanges, is critical for the crew . English has been identified sea exchange of international common language for crew for native language is not English , with good English reading and writing skills is very important . Chinese ship crew competency Certificate English exam is the most important of the English language proficiency of the Chinese crew qualification exam , the Chinese crew of offshore multilingual working environment designed to ensure that the basic requirements , especially the requirements of the STCW Convention for language skills , to ensure that the crew of the education and examination quality , has played a very important role . Seafarers competence Certificate English exam view of the STCW Convention has been modified and improved ability to reflect the requirements of the STCW Convention language class , has been subject to pay close attention . The papers using investigative techniques, the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis of questionnaires and interviews , designed by analyzing the relationship of the language requirements of Chinese seamen certificates English examination system with the STCW Convention , certificates of Chinese seamen English test validity .
