Abstract


Based on the Sperber and Wilson's relevance theory of enlightenment and so as the theoretical basis, the selection of representative English corpus recall statement as the research object, by using the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis combining the research method, this paper analyzes the recall statement express reasoning process, writing strategy context effect, and recall statement context selection. This paper first through the analysis shows that the recall statement this way to communicate with relevance theory puts forward "express reasoning process", and then further to each sentence with the strategy of classified analysis. In the English business recall statement, there are five typical writing strategy, respectively is denied, buck-passing, reduce the harm to impact, correction action and apologize. The results show that statement writers to all sorts of strategy choice has the stress, the study found, respectively after the strategy choice of law can use the relevance theory in the effect of context knowledge interpretation. The paper finally through the Coca-Cola company has released a statement recall the case analysis of the English recall statement context selection. This paper findings can help guide related business English practical writing, at the same time, also help business English reading teaching work.
