Abstract

Li Dazhao was the pioneer of the Chinese Communist Movement and the first proletariat communicator of Marxism in China. His in-depth study of scientific socialism theory had formed the socialist ideology with a unique style and clear structure. These precious theoretical results of Li Dazhao explained initially the issues of "what is socialism", "where China should go", "how the Chinese revolution should do" and the initial study on the question, "How to achieve the goals of socialism ". These valuable thought had found the right develop direction of Chinese society, had made the earliest valuable contribution to the new-democratic revolution theory, and had an important inspiration to the further building of socialism with Chinese characteristics. However, perhaps because of the breadth and depth of his thought, in academia there lack depth research and general grasp of Li Dazhao, who had made a great contribution to the early history of the Chinese Communist Party. So, we should make a comprehensive and objective analysis and research on Li Dazhao’s socialist thought to know how it took shape, what its main content and basic features. What more important are the historic contribution, the limitations and the enlightenments on our reality of his scientific socialism theory.Therefore, this article bases on other’s research achievement, focuses on their shortages, and tries to analyze the formation of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology, describes its main content, understands its basic characteristics, makes a general and in-depth research and an objective evaluation.The article is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction. In this part, the author describes the theory and practical significance of the topic, and gives a more detailed analysis of the present study situation, points out the defects of the current research and summarizes the innovation of this article.Part two analyzes the establishment of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideas. That is, the three ideological basis of Li Dazhao’s transition; the fundamental cognitive conditions and the realistic factors of his socialist ideology. This part is the basic premise to understand Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology. It is also the innovation part of this article. In the existent reference, this part has not been systematically addressed, so the author tries to do some tentative analysis of his socialist ideas.The third part, the core part of this article, discusses the main elements of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology. According to a lot of relative literature, this article gives a systematic and comprehensive description of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology, including Li Dazhao’s definition the meaning of socialism and explanation its basic features; exploration Chinese social development model and discussion about the necessity and possibility of China to socialist road. From these aspects we can see his tremendous contributions to communicate socialism theory; find the direction of social development and explore the roads of our revolution.Based on the main content of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology, part four summarizes the basic characteristics of his thought in four areas:applicability, scientificity, participation, practicality. By analyzing these features, we can understand the unique style of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology as well as his earlier correct understanding of the causes of scientific socialism which is compared with other contemporary intellectuals and make a good bedding for objectively evaluating his socialist ideology.The fifth part is the evaluation of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology. The author makes an objective evaluation on his thought from three aspects:the historical contribution, limitations and the realistic enlightenment, which is another innovative part of this article. Evaluation of the socialist ideology of Li Dazhao allows us to correctly understand his thought, provides some valuable experience about building of the contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics, so that it can give us new understanding and reflection to the socialism practices.The sixth part is epilogue. This part is refined to the content of the article, which make us have a clearer and macro understanding of Li Dazhao’s socialist ideology.
