Nowadays, with the transition of higher education from elite to mass, in the face of the chemical industry’s demand for professionals, how professional guiding Chemical Engineering students from career planning point of view to identify career positioning, make professional thinking stable, and make full use of professional characteristics and advantages, is a requiring urgent issue of the chemical industry professional personnel training and transportation.In this paper, Chemical Engineering Department in Shanghai Institute of Technology as an example, through a survey of professional students, in-depth analyzed the factors that influence professional students’ career planning, based on overseas the latest theories and success experience of career planning, combined personal ideologies, in accordance with the proposed four-year study with the university of time corresponding to the order, provide practical advice and guidance for professional students’ career planning which will enable students fully understand themselves, analyze the environment, establish scientific objectives and make a correct choice of career.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part, introduced the background on the topics, topics significance of the status quo, as well as domestic and foreign research paper on the ideas and methods. The second part, career planning theory summarized by the concept of career planning and the definition of theory, students discussed the significance of career planning. The third part, from the chemical industry development, human resources needs, job requirements and start with the recruitment of recent years, analyzed the chemical industry’s demand for professional students. The fourth part, career planning survey analysis of Chemical Engineering Department in Shanghai Institute of Technology. The fifth part, on the basis of the third part and the fourth part, put forwards professional students in four stages career planning.
