Abstract


Student cadres are the top students in university. They who then become a major force when carrying out work, shoulder a heavy burden of serving students, serving school central tasks and enhancing the social construction of ideological infrastructure on campus. Most student cadres have advanced thoughts, do well in their lessons and stand out for their working capability, which set examples to other students. They can be said to the model and elites among college students. Their growth and development make great contributions to technological progress and play an important role in our country’s government.However, the school is like a small community, so a variety of social ideas and work-styles will be reflected on campus. Particularly, college students are active in thinking and are quick to understand, and they may accept advanced ideas, and may get into backward or decadent ideas as well. Bureaucratization tendency is just one of the concerns. The thesis treats bureaucratization tendency in mainly two aspects. One is the bureaucratization tendency in student organization, and the other is in student cadre induviduals. The approach of this article is to point out the problems in student cardre individuals and organizataions, to analyze the reasaon from the perspective of administrator and educator on campus and then to propose operable counermeasures.The demonstration basis of the thesis is the author’s work experience, practice and thinking. The author has been engaged in student management in Nantong University for six years, and deals with the student cadres of Committee of Communist Youth League and other organizations in the department every day. So the author has a better understanding of their learning, living and working conditions. Meanwhile, the author is well aware that it is unilateral to look into the question only by experience, so an adequate investigation has been taken based on experience. In connection with cadres from different department and different grade, simple students and teachers who take up different post, the author distributes questionaires among 950 people in Nantong University. So attention has been paid to the reseaonable structure when choosing sample to make it typical. Besides, interview for consultation are adopted in the study. Being complemented and supported by theory and policy literature for mutual verification, the author try to combine quantitative and qualitative methods to inhance the reliability and validity of the research.Through investigation, the author finds that bureaucratization tendency has mainly two aspects. One is the bureaucratization tendency in student organization, and the other is in student cadre induviduals. There are many reasons that lead to the unhealthy trend but that the mechanical stratification management is the institutional root of bureaucratization tendency and that student cadre system serve as the tools to maintain the political stability on campus. In addition, there are other important factors that cause student cadres’ bureaucratization tendency, like immanent utilitarian thinking over education and the weakening of moral education on campus. In view of the problems above, the author puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions. To start begin, the selection mechanism should be improved firstly and the student cadre system building need to be strengthen and constantly improved. Moreover, the moral education on campus should take the student cadres as a breakthrough, and continuously intensify its efforts to have humane ideas run through the training of student cadres.
