Mankind enters the 21st century, the scientific work is facing some new challenges , research environment has undergone great changes , the calculated amount and range of information at an incredible pace, by the computer and communications technology to promote the development process , scientific era has arrived. In this context , the U.S. National Science Foundation (National Scientific Fund, referred NSF) Blue Ribbon Commission presented information infrastructure (Cyberinfrastructure, hereinafter referred to as CI) concept, which describes a new research environment that supports advanced , internet-based data acquisition, storage, management , integration, mining , visualization , and other computing and information processing services. In scientific applications , CI is an effective technology solutions , data can be , computers and people combine all three , allows scientists to carry out research across traditional disciplinary boundaries to work with to break the geographical and time constraints, the same places , interdisciplinary research institutions as well as non-traditional work colleagues . This is precisely the virtual university research organizations ideal direction. This paper will introduce CI virtual research organizations in Chinese universities and research organizations in the running as a virtual platform to improve our virtual university research capacity of research organizations , and help for complex , interdisciplinary problem solving .
