Objective: To evaluate the expression of PI3K and Survivin in rectal carcinoma,and the correlation between PI3K and Survivin, and clinicopatho logic of rectal carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods:The expression levels of PI3K and Survivin were detected in 60 cases with rectal carcinoma and 10 cases with rectal adenoma and 10 cases with normal paraneoplastic rectal mucosae tissues using immunohistochemistry.Results:The positive expression rate of PI3K was 81.7%、50% and 30%, while the positive expression rate of Survivin in rectal carcinoma tissues、rectal adenoma tissues and normal tissues was 90%、80% and 20%.Positive expression of PI3K did not have a correlation with gender, age, tumor morphology and location, CEA, differentiation, (P> 0.05), but had correlation with Ducks staging lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Positive expression of Survivin did not have a correlation with gender, age, tumor morphology and location, CEA, differentiation, (P>0.05), but had correlation with Ducks staging、lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). The positive expression of PI3K and the high positive expression of Survivin had a significant positive correlation in rectal carcinoma(P< 0.01,r=0.396).Conclusion:PI3K, Survivin are related to pathology and clinical stage of rectal carcinoma,The positive expression of PI3K and Survivin had a significant positive correlation in rectal carcinoma,and play an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of rectal carcinoma.
