Abstract

As part of the study of metaphor, many scholars from the point of view of the cultural patterns of metaphor. They believe that culture provides a social and cultural background, thus constituting a cognitive model of human experience. The research in this area found metaphors and cultural interaction. Like a language, the use of metaphor by cultural influences, as well as the formation of cultural. Compared with the traditional culture of teaching, by way of metaphor to teach culture than the culture as language outside of knowledge, but rather as part of the language, a basic understanding of the world's people to explore the culture of the target language. The process of foreign language teaching, by differences in cognitive metaphor can help students understand the culture of the target language, and to deepen the understanding of the cultures and peoples way of thinking, and to understand the impact of different cultural languages. Through metaphor cultural teaching some of the theoretical basis of support, but this is only a theoretical idea has not yet passed the practical proof. Then, in order to test whether this method effective, the authors conducted a semester of practice teaching. T-test results show that this method is more effective than the traditional cultural methods of teaching. In addition, this method of teaching allows students to learn more interested in the culture, enabling the active participation of students in cultural teaching. In the end of the paper, the authors point out, this method is not intended to replace other cultural methods of teaching, just a supplement to existing teaching methods, along with other methods has been the promotion of cultural teaching.
