Objective: The efficacy evaluation of cognitive behavior therapy for temporomandibular joint disorders . Method : computer retrieval PubMed (1990-2009,6 months ) , OVID ( 1960-2009,6 months ), EMbase (1974-2009,6 months ) , the Cochrane Library controlled clinical trials database ( 3 ) , 2009 , Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM ,1978-2009, 6 months) , and the Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CNKI ,1994-2009, 10 months) , the collection of cognitive behavior therapy for temporomandibular joint disorder , randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized controlled trials . RevMan 5.0 software by two reviewers independent evaluation of study quality and extracted data on homogeneous studies using Meta-analysis and Meta-analysis of heterogeneity can not descriptive qualitative analysis . Results: Total of 323 relevant literature , evaluation included in the five studies , including three randomized controlled trials and two quasi-randomized controlled trials . The quality evaluation results of the two studies were rated as Class B , three studies were rated as Class C , the methodological quality of the included studies are generally not high . Treatment varies , different follow-up period , and the control group interventions , clinical heterogeneity , can not use the meta - analysis methods combined effect size , only qualitative descriptive analysis included studies . The analysis showed that CBT of TMD treatment effect , compared with the control group, there is no obvious advantage , the study follow-up results are different , still unable to determine its efficacy . Conclusion : Based on the current evidence can not come to the CBT for the exact effect of the TMD . Therefore a need to carry out rigorous design , higher methodological quality of clinical trials to obtain more reliable evidence .
