Abstract


Human resource management is very important to the expanse of enterprises. The successful human resource management can improve the enterprises’ benefit efficiently; also can help to obtain long-term competitive advantage. Competency model brings brand-new visual angle and more efficient scheme in the field of human resource management. The article gives clear discussion of theories of competency and competency model. Therefore, the dissertation’s researches on developing and applying of competency model can offer methods and foundation directed by the theory of competency model if enterprises induce competency model.Firstly, the background, aims and meanings of writings have been discussed, and then gives a retrospect of the research findings of competency model both home and abroad. The theories of competency model are summarized. Secondly, as the sample of BBC Company which has set up marketing manager competency model, the whole procedures of building up competency model are stated. Thirdly, competency model is brought into the systems of human resource management to introduce applying of competency model in 4 aspects of recruitment, training, compensation and succession. Finally, caution against applying of competency model and prospects are given.The built of Marketing Manager Competency Model will provide powerful basis for the selection of Marketing Manager, for the forecast of the manager’s performance and the reasonable training systems.The researches not only can offer efficient management tools of HRM and rich theoretical systems of HRM , but also have practical value and applied perspectives on the field of HRM.
