Objective: To evaluate gemcitabine in recurrent ovarian cancer treatment process efficacy and safety . Methods: the computer We searched MEDLINE (1966 to 2008 ) , EMBASE ( 1974 to 2008) , the Cochrane Library , CNKI (1994 ~ 2008) and other databases. The manual searches related fields Magazine , and Google, Baidu and other search engines on the Internet to find relevant literature . Retrieve the deadline to December 2008 . Collected with other chemotherapy drugs , gemcitabine (GEM) compared to the treatment of recurrent ovarian cancer (ROC) randomized controlled trial (RCT) literature . Results: the results of the literature retrieval : incorporate standards-compliant randomized controlled trial of 3 , in line with the inclusion criteria of literature a total of 3 Pian , total , including patients with 704 cases : where there is more than one center randomized controlled trial RCT comparing gemcitabine Bin ( GEM ) and lipid body doxorubicin (PLD) in the treatment of the efficacy and safety of the ROC ; another multi- center RCT comparing gemcitabine gemcitabine and carboplatin combination therapy efficacy and safety of the same card platinum single-agent treatment of platinum -sensitive ROC ; 3 center RCT comparing gemcitabine Bin liposomal doxorubicin in the treatment of the efficacy and safety of the ROC . After Meta-analysis found that: ( 1) gemcitabine compared with liposomal doxorubicin : clinical benefit rate , remission rate , no significant difference in the rate of stable disease , the median survival time ; 3 / 4 neutrophils reduce , GEM is significantly larger than the PLD, the difference was statistically significant . ( 2 ) in platinum -sensitive ROC treatment GEM - carboplatin combination therapy compared with single drug carboplatin : clinical benefit rate , remission rate, the former is significantly larger than the latter , the difference was statistically significant ; stable disease rate was no difference statistically significant ; 3 / 4 neutrophils reduced 3 / 4 anemia , grade 3/4 thrombocytopenia the GEM - carboplatin combination therapy was significantly greater than carboplatin single-agent , the difference was statistically significant . Conclusion: ROC chemotherapy , GEM treatment effect with PLD equivalent GEM compared with PLD easily induced neutropenia hematologic toxicity . , GEM and carboplatin combination therapy was superior to carboplatin monotherapy , but hematologic toxicity was significantly increased in the treatment of platinum -sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer .
