There are countless links between Huang-Mei and National-Vocal. They are both folk music, which is an important part of Chinese culture and arts. They are symbol of Chinese national spirit.Far from the origin, folk music influences the Huang-Mei on aesthetic, theme, tune, etc. Especially, in the early stage of Huang-Mei, there are big limitations on tune. It is based on civil minor that is narrow on range, unitary on timbre and the scale is restricted. From 1940s and 1950s, some Huang-Mei artists, such as Yan Fengying, Ding Junmei, started to realize the importance of using scientific singing; they kept learning and using the sound method of National-Vocal for reference. Over half a century, by efforts of generations, the range of Huang-Mei is expanded and the opera expression is strengthened. This makes Huang-Mei becoming a national-renowned local opera. This article is going to find in which ways that Huang-Mei is affected by National-Vocal from its development context; analyze the succeed and importance of using National-Vocal for reference through tune, language, singing, etc.
