Abstract


This study investigated the impact of metadiscourse Chinese English learners reading comprehension . The focus of the study is the lack of metadiscourse whether or not to affect the reading as well as a professor of metadiscourse ability to affect the reading skills . Overview of the literature , we know that metadiscourse is a fuzzy controversial concept , there has been no exact definition and classification of an object of this paper is to propose a relatively clear definition and classification . In addition, empirical research on metadiscourse , compare description endless perspective of metadiscourse results , but few directly on the correlation metadiscourse reading comprehension , in-depth study . Study of metadiscourse read the role of surveys, as well as a professor of metadiscourse reading comprehension of English learners in China , aims to compensate for this shortcoming , the metadiscourse English reading raw data and information . This study will answer three questions : 1) metadiscourse lack of ability to affect the understanding of the article ? Problem involves two aspects : a ) the lack of macro metadiscourse affect reading comprehension ? B ) micro Lack of Discourse whether affect reading comprehension ? 2) whether direct teaching metadiscourse can improve students' reading comprehension skills ? 3 ) if metadiscourse can teach , PPP model is valid ? In this study, the Shandong Institute of Light Industry, 140 non- English majors freshman investigate . First , the students were randomly divided into three groups , respectively, do the papers in the original title ( the first group ) , micro metadiscourse missing version ( the second group ) and the lack of macro metadiscourse English reading test version ( third group ) . Then , the two classes were divided into experimental classes , control classes , and accept the test before the experiment , no difference in results . The experimental class received metadiscourse knowledge of two classes of the end of the semester test again . The results show that the metadiscourse affect reading comprehension , but microscopic Metadiscourse need to Professor fishes Reading Comprehension impact ; The results also confirmed the role of metadiscourse Professor , and prove that the traditional explanations , drills , use (PPP) mode of teaching the metadiscourse Professor . The experimental results for future research to provide useful inspiration and stressed that the purpose Professor metadiscourse need university reading classroom .
