Abstract


Chip multithreading ( Chip Multithreading , CMT ) architecture , multiple threads to improve resource utilization and performance by sharing and competition in a variety of hardware resources on the processor , chip resource allocation problem has therefore become the core issue of the CMT . Predecessors from different points of view on the multi-threaded architecture fruitful research , but how to cooperate with each other in a multithreaded done little use of resources , lack of awareness of mining for the \inefficient resource utilization , thread collaborative scheduling inappropriate choice of other issues , while difficult to achieve even more depth to develop and take advantage of the performance potential of multithreading . In response to these problems , the paper, the theoretical analysis combined with the large number of experiments , starting from the actual needs of the threads resources to conduct in-depth study of the complementarity between the thread . The details are as follows : First, ignore the phenomenon of resource allocation performance for the previous studies only focus on specific water segment or specific resources , configuration of the storage class resource fetch queue (Instruction Fetch Queue, IFQ) , for example , processor overall performance reveal resources improper configuration will have a negative impact , and analysis of the underlying causes of the relevance and performance of a variety of resources affected .
