Abstract


Metaphor is generally considered to be a rhetorical approach , decorative language . Traditionally , most of the metaphor studies focus on its language features . Lakoff and Johnson, the survival of our metaphor \In recent years , Chinese metaphor has become a hot research . Lakoff and Johnson 's book , they have made a very important theory - the concept of metaphor . The theory is that the metaphor is the essence of a thing to understand and experience another thing ; thinking essentially is a metaphor . Each metaphor has a source and target domains . Conceptual metaphor theory of metaphor translation has a very important significance for metaphor translation provides a new way of thinking . This paper tries to propose three metaphors translation principles , on the basis of a review of the traditional translation theory and conceptual metaphor , hoping to inspire the metaphor translation . The first principle is to identify the source language of conceptual metaphor ; Second , in the translation of the metaphor has a unique cultural significance , including cultural factors should be retained in the target language ; Third , the metaphor translation method should be based on the source the language used metaphor purpose to decide. This paper is divided into five parts . The first part is the preamble metaphor research and writing of this article briefly introduced the background . The second chapter reviews the concept of Chinese and Western metaphor , metaphor for the study of history as well as the role of metaphor and features . The third part describes the conceptual metaphor , comparing conceptual metaphor and metaphor theory . The fourth chapter is the focus of this article , based on the analysis of traditional translation theory , combined with the concept of metaphor inspired , this paper proposes three principles of conceptual metaphor translation . The last part is the conclusion .
