Abstract


Following the upsurge of cultural studies in academic circles,the researches of festival customs and corresponding speeches attract more and more attention. This paper mainly researches Dragon Boat Festival speeches in Song Dynasty.It makes a comprehensive research of cultural significance,national psychology,poets’ creating mentality and imagery in the works.Further more, it studies and contracts the factors mentioned above in era background in order to investigate the essential intention and deep implication of the Dragon Boat Festival speeches.This paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter introduces the origin and development of folk customs,as well as the survey of Dragon Boat Festival in Song Dynasty.In this chapter,we can have a comparatively all-round knowledge to the historical origins and background characteristic of times that the Dragon Boat Festival speeches emerged in Song Dynasty.Beginning with folk customs,the second chapter studies synthetically the festival customs showed in Dragon Boat Festival speeches.Then it analyzes the reasons why Boat Race and five-color silk become so popular in Song Dynasty.It also studies the art expression of the two customs in speeches of Song Dynasty.Then it analyzes the life enthusiasm,introspection and patriotism spirit of the people lived in Song Dynasty through culture and psychology perspective.The third chapter researches the emotion expressing art of Dragon Boat Festival speech in Song Dynasty.The legend that the Dragon Boat Festival originated from Qu Yuan determined the fact that there were lots of metaphor, parallelism and allusions about Qu Yuan.Meanwhile,the speech authors used lots of folk customs to construct the speeches’ imagery.The forth chapter takes Wu Wenying’s Dragon Boat Festival love affair speeches and Liu Chenweng’s patriotism speeches for example,makes all-round researches and studies synthetically the emotion expressed in their Dragon Boat Festival speeches.
