Abstract


School is a sort of cultural phenomenon, it is the outcome of culture, and also the base of culture transmitting, and the ground for people learning and teaching by using culture. School culture is the summation of all kinds of cultures which have been formalizing gradually during the long-term development of schools.School culture is not the synonym of campus culture. Campus culture is one of the most important parts of school culture, it is subject to it. School culture cannot be divided from language, symbol, image, custom, science, technology, knowledge and experience. Although the attributes of schools are almost the same, the levels of schools are different.School culture is a kind of sub-culture of social culture, but it is not just the simple copy or clone. According to the aim and request of education, it has to choose, filtrate, and epurate social culture to create an individual one which has its own characteristics. Modern school culture is a sort of epoch culture that keeps with each passing day. This kind of new culture passes the excellent traditional culture. It is the combination of multi-cultures. In order to promote the harmonious society development and complete individual’s development, the basic assignment of modern culture is to educate the next generation, focus on the society, serve for the masses. During the construction of school culture, enterprise culture constructional mode, quality culture constructional mode, morality culture constructional mode, humanism culture constructional mode, and school culture constructional mode, etc, have appeared.The criterions to evaluate school culture construction are: whether there is a principal who comprehends well the way of school cultural management; whether there is a school managing sense to embody the common values; whether there is a cultural symbol which shows the schools’ spirits; whether there is the atmosphere which is aspiring, healthy and concordant; whether there is a regular, effective and applied administrative policy; whether there is a development strategy which helps to make the school stronger by culture; whether there is a cultural activity which is unremitting and with bright characteristics; whether there is harmonious relationship among people.The operation process during the school culture construction realizes the concrete implementations which embody in school value culture construction, school symbol culture construction, school environment culture construction, school policy culture construction, school teaching culture construction, school activity culture construction, teachers’ culture construction, and students’ culture construction, etc.The strategies of school culture construction are mainly exhibited in: it is a systematic project, a principle project, an education project, a motivation project, an image project and a long-term project.
