Objective: To investigate hypertension hyperuricemia and carotid atherosclerosis relationship . Methods: The General Hospital of Xinjiang Coal Mine in July 2006 - September 2007 Cardiology patients for the study, hypertension and hyperuricemia selected 35 patients with hypertensive patients , 33 cases of patients with hyperuricemia alone 28 cases and the control group of 30 patients , a total of 126 cases , all of the neck vascular ultrasound testing, and routine record patient age, gender , waist circumference, smoking history and blood lipids and other biochemical parameters were observed in each group carotid atherosclerosis happens . Results: ( 1 ) hypertension and hyperuricemia group (A group ) , hypertension alone group (B group ) , hyperuricemia alone group (C group ) and normal control group (D ) carotid atherosclerosis hardening rates were 91.43% , 66.7%, 60.71% and 40% (x ~ 2 = 19.45, P <0.05); A group and B group , C group and D group compared with carotid atherosclerosis significantly increased incidence (P <0.0083); B group, C group and D group compared with carotid atherosclerosis increased incidence (P <0.0083); B group and C group carotid atherosclerosis was no significant difference in the incidence (P> 0.0083) . (2) A group, B group, C group HDL-C levels were 1.16 ± 0.37mmol / L, 1.16 ± 0.25mmol / L, 1.12 ± 0.18mmol / L, less than three caught group D 1.36 ± 0.32mmol / L (P <0.05); A, B, C three groups HDL-C levels were not significantly different (P> 0.05). (3) A group waist level was 90.40 ± 5.90cm, higher than the D group 85.52 ± 5.03cm (P <0.05), the rest of the group was no significant difference between waist circumference (P> 0.05). Conclusions: ( 1 ) have high blood pressure or high uric acid carotid atherosclerosis was higher than normal ; ( 2 ) hypertension and hyperuricemia were more likely to carotid atherosclerosis , suggesting that hyperuricemia disease in patients with hypertension may promote carotid atherosclerosis formation.
