Abstract


Wireless broadband network in the raging tide of information , as an important means of networking gradually showing strong vitality . Fixed broadband access and mobile service user needs change presents the trend of integration , technology and business broadband mobile and mobile broadband is becoming the trend of the two areas of technology development , and complement each other and promote each other . IEEE 802 Working Group has developed the technical specifications such as WLAN and WiMAX intent along fixed , nomadic / portable , mobile this evolution path gradually broadband mobile IEEE 802.16 WiMAX is an important milestone for broadband mobile , and promote mobile broadband the evolution and development . This article describes the development of WiMAX technology , introduce and explain the concept of WiMAX technology , WiMAX technology simple descriptions and instructions ; WiMAX and other networking technology , relatively mainstream wired and wireless networking technology to analyze the merits and features , pointed out that the the complementary coexistence relations between WiMAX and other technologies ; study of WiMAX application and to classify them into two directions : as a means of access and backbone as the formation of regional communication the possibility of the net . Used in the access network and the backbone network for WiMAX environment , this paper discusses the characteristics of WiMAX technology in a variety of application environments and the pros and cons ; WiMAX in different applications , some typical application cases , specific study WiMAX in different application environments and application mode , and pointed out that the key problem of these applications .
