Abstract


The concept of quality of working life emerged in the trade union in the period of 1960’s in western country firstly. Because this concept expressed the employees’ desire to make the decision and satisfy theirs’ higher needs, and when the enterprises pursue the economical benefits, it must take the social benefits and personal benefits into consideration, so this trend embodied the working humanity process, quickly it was accepted by western society broadly and became a kind of universal movement. The movement of QWL is the necessary results of the development of human resource management theory and practices, and also it has important warning sense to the human resource management of our country. The concept of organizational citizenship behavior was forwarded by Organ in 1983, and from then the concept was the hot topic of researchers, formed a mature theory system, make a solid foundation for future research.The research of QWL of scholar of mainland is few, though some scholars advanced the native definition and indexes of QWL; it is only theory aspect and short of systematical research. So this research based on the past researches, expressed my understanding of QWL. And meanwhile, we use the method of employee interview and open questionnaire, developed a subscale of QWL.And we found that the research of relationship between the QWL and OCB wasn’t researched by the scholars of mainland, so this study did correlation and regression analysis on the relationship of the QWL and OCB. And the main conclusions are as followed:(1)The QWL subscale we used include 12 factors: self-esteem, life security, self-growth, job and life contradiction, adequate and fair compensation, opportunity to use and develop human capacity, physical work environment, job variety, opportunity for continued growth, human relationship and social aspect of work life, equity, justice and grievance handling, participation in decision making.(2)From the analysis, we certified the hypothesis that the QWL and the dimensions of OCB are positive correlation, but the QWL is positive correlation with protecting the resources of company is not certified.(3)Form the analysis, we also certified the hypothesis that the dimensions of QWL and OCB are positive correlation, and the correlation index of human relationship, life security and working environment are top three.(4)The results of regression analysis indicate that the dimensions of quality of working life have significant positive effect on the dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior, except the dimension of promotion has negative effect on the dimension of human harmony. During the regression analysis, the dimension of human relationship enter the regression equation four times, so it indicate that this dimension have greatly positive effect on the organizational citizenship behavior, and people pay great attention to the human relationship in the background of Chinese culture
