Abstract


Thomas Hardy is a late Victorian Britain 's most famous novelist and poet . Hardy's realist novels with strong rustic fictional Wessex \the struggle between the reality . His \These novels is undoubtedly fully reflects the life keen perception and insight , as well as its unparalleled artistic achievement . Hardy novels since the publication since concern and discussion . Literary critics at home and abroad , as reflected in the main characters in the novel , narrative techniques , theme , as well as novel , the author of love , marriage and religious view of all aspects of a lot of research . Hardy works fully reflects the multi - faceted nature of fiction profound ideological content and high academic value . Binary opposition is widespread , dichotomy has become an important research in the field of literary criticism and literary works . \On the basis of previous studies from the theory of structural linguistics analysis reveals novel dualism dualistic characterization deepening contradictions reveal the theme and rendering of the tragedy of the novel .
